Unconventional War

After Eisenhower's inauguration, he took actions during the Cold War. Eisenhower was determined to overthrow the democratic government of Iran which was ruled by Shah as king and Mohammed Mossadegh as prime minister. Mohammed was overthrown from his position because of his goal to lead iran to into the soviet camp; after this Shah was  announced as the ruler of all of Iran. Since Shah was supported by the united states, iranians came to hate the United States keeping americans hostage after their invasion in the American embassy.

Joseph Mcarthy believed that there were communist members amongst the state department, and he wanted to notify the president.

Saving Private Ryan

The movie takes place during WW2 in which four brothers are in combat. Three of the brothers are killed and the fourth brother is to be found and sent home as a way for their mother to cope with her lost. Eight men are sent to find private Ryan, but they soon start losing the hope that he is still alive. At the end, they find private ryan, after losing some of their men, and come to find out that private Ryan refuses to leave. Private Ryan decides to stay and continue to fight the war.

Private Ryan stood out to be courageous, loyal, and patriotic. When he was found by the men that were sent to find him, Ryan decided to stay and continue fighting side by side with his company. By refusing to leave, he showed patriotism and it also showed that he was loyal to his country and the other soldiers that he was fighting with.

Since I am interested in the medical field, I would have served as a medic if I were to be in a battlefield.

WW1

Alliances was a factor that lead to the great war. The war between russia and germany caused their alliances to step in and take part in the war.

U-boat-was a submarine that can go undetected

luistania attacked- british passenger liner that was attacked by the u boat
sussex pledge-Germany agreed to warn before they attacked ships
Zimmerman telegram-note made to mexico to attack U.S and they would get a piece of U.S
Russian revolution-  replaced czar with a republican gov
Sinking of the 3 naval ships- Germany sank 3 naval ships without giving any notice

American Imperialism

Spreading around the world. The image also has the territories which the United States got to maintain though 

imperialism. 

The United States decided to become an Imperialistic country to

1) It was a violation of the fourth amendment because the fourth amendment states that a person is secure in their house, papers, and effects. Since they did not have a warrant to search her purse, they violated her fourth amendment.

2) The fourth amendment does not apply to students in a school setting because if  there is suspicion that a crime has been or  is in the process of being committed, or reasonable cause to believe then the search is necessary to maintain school discipline or enforce school policies.

3) The search was reasonable to me because they were caught by a teacher and then to lie about it seems suspicious. It was also necessary because it could have involved the safety of students.

4) I believe that if there is a case in which it involves the safety of other students, they should be able to search the belongings of that student.

5) Since it involved substances that are not permitted in a school setting, I believe that the Supreme Court would have made the same decision of allowing the principle of searching the purse without any warrant because it could have put other students in danger.

 At this time, the rich were benefitting from all the industrial technologies in which they hired people for low pay. Labor unions were formed by workers to basically demand for better working conditions and better pay. Along with this, some workers demanded benefits for their labor. Labor unions allowed workers to come together and ask for better wages for their hard work they did.

Wearing white robes and trying to restore the white supremacy were confederate veterans known as the Ku Klux Klan. The KKK would gather in groups to reunite and have ceremonies in which the cross was burned to ignite their bodies with the glow of the fire which was their interpretation of the  spirit of christ reaching out to them. The KKK terrorized african-americans due to the fact that they had been freed by the Emancipation Proclamation, which caused the klan to kill african-americans by lynching them where their bodies were to be found; this would allow people to know that the klan existed and it wanted its powers back.

The reconstruction era was the time of reformation of the country coming together as one. This gave citizenship to all african american and allowed them to vote. The image depicts the attitudes southern white men, and how they felt about the amendments that were ratified. An African- American citizen is being tormented and being threatened by two white american citizens, which are pointing their guns to the african americans head. In this time, african americans were tormented and even killed when they were headed to vote. At times, some African Americans did not make it to their destination because they were mislead.

Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, in Kentucky. Lincoln associated himself with the Republican party, and was pushed to take action against the south. Lincoln's main objective was to preserve the union. After seven states seceded, they formed the confederacy, and attacked Fort Sumter on April 12, 1861. Lincoln tried to reunify the nation, but was troubled after passing the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed the slaves. After setting up a naval blockage, which stopped the Souths trade, the union took over the bordering slave states which allowed the union to have an advantage over the war, ending the war in 1865.
